The National Pensioners' Convention (NPC) comprises senior citizens’ organisations from across the United Kingdom as well as trades unions representing health workers, teachers, railway workers, the fire brigade and many others, not to mention various political parties and environmental groups.

As an example of the type of projects undertaken by the NPC, with a General Election on the horizon, a rally was organised in April 2010 to unite the full spectrum of workers and pensioners desperate to protect their hard-won rights and privileges.

The speakers representing the organisations stressed the need to send a message to whichever party moved into number 10 Downing Street that any attempt to erode these rights would be vigorously resisted.
